Festival Quatuors à Bordeaux

The Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition takes place every third year (next one in 2016); on intervening years, in May, Quatuors à Bordeaux offers the audience a great week of chamber music, where laureates of past competitions give life to the Bordeaux Festival and participants of future competitions attend the String Quartet Academy under the guidance of the most illustrious teachers.

String Quartet Academy

The String Quartet Academy masterclasses are open to the public and will take place at the Salle Capitulaire of Cour Mably.  Five young quartets form five European countries quartets have been selected to attend the lessons of French violist Prof. Miguel Da Silva. Quatuors à Bordeaux offers them their accomodation, the classes and, most important, the opportunity to perform a concert.
